THE BLACK LION  ABERGORLECH

 

Take a drive  through the picturesque Cothi Valley to The Black Lion Abergorlech, one of the lesser known jewels in Carmarthenshire ! We offer a cosy, intimate and friendly village Pub run by myself,  George, and my lovely wife Louise Rashbrook ( who makes all the home made Pub food).

Abergorlech is small and picturesque village, on the bank of the River Cothi situated between Llandeilo and Carmarthen.

 

You can enjoy the beautiful woodland walks which follow the Gorlech River, enjoying either the short  or long signposted walks, or the amazing mountain bike trails; then retreat into the comfort of The Black Lion and toast yourself by the fire !

 

We have a beer garden by the River Cothi, which you can eat in during the Summer ( or Winter if you’re hard !). We welcome dogs and the occasional horse.

 

The ‘olde worlde’ bar and restaurant is lit by candles at night, and is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. You can choose from an extensive bar menu and specials board during the day, and there is also a dining menu in the evenings. We can cater for large parties and functions, but only if booked in advance.  It is our aim to offer proper home made food, generous portions, nothing pretentious, just good honest hearty Pub food. We offer a variety of vegetarian options and can accomodate vegans if you let us know you are coming. Bookings are appreciated to be sure we have enough staff as we are rural.
